Projects

Creativity isn't just what I do—it's the essence that keeps me balanced and whole. My lifelong dedication to art infuses everything I touch with originality and passion, ensuring that when I contribute to a project, it's not just a task completed, but a distinctive piece of creativity brought to life.

  • T-Mobile Kingsburg Office Logo Mural

The second mural I created for T-Mobile presented a unique challenge; it was a departure from the originality of creating my own designs, as I was tasked with scaling their Kingsburg office logo to a grand size on the wall of their smoking patio. The brief was straightforward yet demanding: to execute the mural with precision using T-Mobile’s iconic white and magenta brand colors.

This project put a spotlight on my technical skills, particularly my steady hand and keen eye for detail, which were critical in the absence of any guiding tape or stencils. The finished piece, a large-scale representation of the logo, was a testament to my ability to deliver high-quality work under added pressure. Visitors to the patio were not just surprised but impressed by the mural's crisp lines and the precision of the freehand work, serving as a vibrant embodiment of T-Mobile's brand identity and a striking backdrop for the space.
  • Randy's Handiworks Logo

For Randy, who is known for his problem-solving prowess and the joy he finds in helping others, transitioning to his new business 'Handy Randy' was not just a career change—it was a step towards fulfillment. His amiable nature and versatility are well-loved, making the task of crafting his brand's logo a particularly exhilarating challenge for me.

My goal was to encapsulate Randy's reliable work ethic and personable service in the logo's design. Opting for a robust, emblematic shape paired with durable typography, the logo exudes a sense of trustworthiness and time-honored skill. The use of classic colors further reinforces the brand's dependability, ensuring that Handy Randy's visual identity is as solid and effective as the man behind the tools. This logo isn’t just Randy’s signature; it’s a beacon of his dedication to service and quality craftsmanship.
  • Kabab Twist Restaurant Mural

Kabab Twist started as a food truck with ambitions to start a brick and mortar shop. This dream became reality and they moved into the back of a small local shopping mall.

    The Problem
Tucked away at the rear, they were presented with a unique challenge: to not only showcase their brand's freshness and flavor but also to guide potential customers to their somewhat hidden locale. They started with a small paper sign that buckled under the tape, looked temporary, and underwhelming. It definitely wasn't the impression they wanted to give to potential customers.

    The Answer
To solve this problem, I employed a design approach that would serve as both a signpost and a visual representation of their food. The foundation of the mural was a canvas of bold, hand-lettered ingredients, each chosen to represent the freshness that the restaurant prides itself on. This typographical backdrop sets the stage for the central visuals: crisp, graphic illustrations that reflected Kingsburg's unique identity and the vibrant quality of their food. It made the tables area feel like an eatery where you'd enjoy meeting a friend for a meal instead of an afterthought.

The resulting mural is a beacon that calls to patrons from across the mall. It beckons them to the food, all while celebrating the local flair and bounty that they offer. More than just a directional sign, it became part of the restaurant's brand story, a friendly and playful reminder of the people and food behind the Kabab.

  • T-Mobile Central Valley Mural

Following the success of the Aerial Kingsburg mural, I connected with Robert, the Head of Operations at Kingsburg’s T-Mobile Customer Experience Center, who sought to infuse their office space with the same creative vitality. After a thorough selection process, they entrusted me to bring the essence of the Central Valley into their workplace.

Guiding them through my process of exploration and meticulous design refinement, we reached a concept that resonated with everyone. The mural was to be a celebration of the local spirit, constrained only by the brief to reflect the essence of Kingsburg and the broader Central Valley.

I designed the mural as a dynamic spring vista within an orchard, set against the serene backdrop of the foothills, cleverly giving the illusion that the bricks had peeled back to reveal this idyllic scene. The artwork is brought to life with wayfinding elements that not only add depth but also highlight destinations that resonate with Central Valley locals.

This mural transformed the outdoor patio into a vibrant hub of connection and identity, embodying T-Mobile’s commitment to creating exceptional environments for their team. It's more than decor; it's a visual pledge of the company's investment in their staff's well-being and a celebration of the community that surrounds them.
  • Aerial Kingsburg Mural

Landing my first mural project with Aerial Kingsburg was a leap into a long-held ambition, driven by a belief in learning through doing. Selected from the proposals by a committee of town officials, I was given a canvas to merge art with community, crafting a design that mirrors the rich, diverse fabric of Kingsburg life from an aerial perspective.

The mural unfolds as a patchwork quilt, illustrating the harmonious blend of different cultures and landscapes that define the area. By incorporating the beloved local high school colors, the artwork resonates deeply with the community's pride and spirit.

This isn't just a mural; it's a statement piece that stands out amidst Kingsburg's collection of public art. With its modern, typography-centric approach, it brings a fresh, eye-catching element to the town's visual landscape. It's a reflection of unity viewed from above, an emblem that, much like a quilt, represents the interwoven stories and shared beauty of Kingsburg's identity.
  • Wedehase Kart Livery Design

The Wedehase racing brand, with its eye-catching yellow hexagon motif, was set to blaze a new trail on their latest kart. In evolving the brand, I maintained the signature pattern while introducing a sleek, dark background to convey the kart's velocity. The hexagons appear to be peeling away in a burst of speed, symbolizing the kart's swift prowess on the track.

This design isn't just an extension of the existing brand; it's an elevation. It encapsulates the essence of kart racing—speed, dynamism, and the rush of the race—while keeping the visual identity unmistakably Wedehase. This livery turns heads and reinforces the Wedehase presence, ensuring the brand is as bold and exciting as the race itself.
  • Samuel Marshall Photography Logo

Samuel's entrance into the photography scene demanded a brand that mirrored his dual passions: the adrenaline of sports and the serenity of nature. The logo I crafted for him captures this essence—a silhouette of Samuel poised in the great outdoors, with the subtle yet unmistakable outline of a football field on the horizon.

Chosen for their power and clarity, the red, black, and white color scheme ensures his brand stands out. It's a bold statement in visual form, one that catches the eye and announces Samuel's unique photographic niche with confidence. This isn't just a logo; it's a beacon for his target audience, drawing in those who share his enthusiasm for the vigor of sports and the allure of nature.

He eventually stopped focusing his business on nature photography so we made adjustments to the logo to match.
  • Wedehase Minicup Livery Design

Jason's passion for race car photography and his presence on the track became a family affair, sparking his son's journey into racing—from quarter midgets to mastering a minicup car. Having crafted the visual identity for his son's first kart, I was thrilled to take on the design of the new minicup car livery.

The design's centerpiece is a striking highlighter yellow, a brand color chosen not just for aesthetics but to ensure visibility and recognition amidst the blur of the race. Paired with a distinctive hexagon pattern, the design commands attention, making the Wedehase racing livery an iconic presence on the track.

This livery isn't just a color scheme; it's a statement. It's become synonymous with the Wedehase name, creating a buzz in the stands and leaving an indelible mark on the local racing community. The design reflects the excitement and dynamism of racing, ensuring that all eyes are on the Wedehase car, lap after thrilling lap.
  • Ramos Torres Bebote Light Can Wrap

Bringing fresh zeal to Ramos Torres Winery's summer initiative, Oscar tasked me with reimagining their cherished character, El Bebote, for their new venture into wine seltzers—Bebote Light. This wasn't just a rebrand; it was about capturing the essence of summer in a can.

The original El Bebote, a character rich in story but confined to a watercolor past, needed a digital rebirth for the flexibility required by modern branding. I redrew the character, infusing it with vibrant new colors and dynamic shadows, ensuring that it would translate perfectly onto the cans and resonate with a summer vibe.

Oscar provided the creative seed, envisioning El Bebote in an outdoor adventure, evoking the ideal seltzer-sipping scenario. From this concept, I crafted a scene where our character engages in fly fishing amidst an idyllic backdrop, humorously fending off a feisty hawk with a bottle of the winery's finest—a playful scene that captures the spirit of both the beverage and the brand.

The completed design for Bebote Light isn't just a can wrap; it's a visual narrative that speaks to the winery's dedication to originality and its pulse on consumer desires. It's an illustration of their willingness to venture into new territories, offering a light-hearted, yet bold companion to summer fun, and a testament to their continued evolution in the ever-changing wine industry.
  • Ramos Torres Germ Commando Sanitizer Label

Amidst the peak of the COVID pandemic, when spirits were down and hand sanitizer became liquid gold, Ramos Torres Winery saw an opportunity to innovate. They embarked on creating a hand sanitizer from winemaking byproducts, and I had the joy of branding this timely product. Together, we played with names and landed on the playful yet authoritative "Germ Commando."

Oscar, seeking to inject some levity into the serious context of the pandemic, envisioned a label featuring valiant characters in combat with the virus. I embraced this concept with the same gusto as my Inktober projects that Oscar had initially admired. It was a creative outlet for the quarantine blues, allowing me to channel energy into something positive and purposeful.

The final artwork is a vibrant blend of action-packed ink illustrations with lively typography that captures the essence of the "Germ Commando" - a product not just of utility, but of hope and resilience. The label design isn't merely informative; it's a beacon of the winery's ingenuity and commitment to community wellbeing during a time of global crisis.
  • Ramos Torres Cupido Wine Label

By now, Oscar and I had established a rhythm in our collaboration, with a mutual understanding of our respective styles and preferences. The genesis of this particular wine label was a nostalgic font from a sign Oscar admired in Mexico, which he envisioned blending with a cupid motif—a classic symbol of love—infused with an Aztec aesthetic.

I embarked on an exploratory phase, sketching various figures to capture the right sentiment, and experimenting with different elements, such as the eventual brick wall texture. Through iterative feedback and thoughtful revisions, we crystallized our vision into a label that radiates with the vibrant hues characteristic of Aztec artwork.

A particularly delightful aspect of designing this label was the opportunity to consider the wine's own hue in my color choices. With the wine’s coloration in mind, I selected an orange backdrop to harmonize with the liquid's pinkish-orange glow, complemented by a contrasting blue for the bricks, ensuring the label would not only embody the wine's spirit but also enhance its visual appeal in a clear bottle.

The result is a label that does more than identify; it invites the beholder into a narrative, enhancing the wine's allure with a label that marries tradition with the tactile joy of a perfect palette, ensuring the wine stands out on any shelf and in any glass.
  • Ramos Torres Bandolero Wine Label

The Bandolero label for Ramos Torres Winery emerged as a fusion of traditional Mexican heritage and modern storytelling. In our quest to capture the essence of Mexico, we delved into the rich tapestry of cultural motifs, drawing inspiration from the vibrant Huichol yarn art that I had admired since college.

My design process wove together the colorful threads of this tradition with the adventurous spirit of Bandolero. The label features a stylized yarn art panorama, symbolizing the elements of sunshine, water, growth, and earth—a celebration of the natural bounty from which the wine is born.

At the heart of the design is a bandolero, not on horseback but on a motorcycle, symbolizing a journey through the lush landscapes of the winery. This contemporary twist not only honors the traditional but revitalizes it, inviting wine enthusiasts to experience the story of Bandolero with every bottle.

This label has become more than a visual identity; it's a narrative piece that encapsulates the winery's connection to tradition and the land's generative power. It invites curiosity and conversation, enhancing the wine's appeal and offering consumers a taste of heritage with each pour.
  • Ramos Torres Carbonica Wine Label

During Inktober 2019, a creative journey of daily artistic prompts, my distinctive ink drawings caught the eye of Oscar, the owner of Ramos Torres Winery. This serendipitous connection led to a unique collaboration: crafting an imaginative wine label that would stand out in the bustling wine market.

Oscar was drawn to the style of my Inktober pieces, and together, we envisioned a label that would capture the essence of their Carbonica wine with a whimsical twist. The concept? A label that would not only showcase the wine but also tell a story and create an experience.

Our creative exchange produced a label design that married Oscar's innovative vision with my artistic flair. The result was an enchanting UFO scene, with aliens cleverly depicted as grapes, which not only embodied the playful spirit of the winery but also added a novel touch with glow-in-the-dark elements.

This label doesn't just mark the bottle; it invites intrigue and conversation, making the wine a memorable experience for consumers. For Ramos Torres Winery, it was an investment in a label that goes beyond branding—it's an interactive piece of art that captures imagination, enhances shelf presence, and engages customers in a way that's as unique as the wine itself.
  • Wedehase Photographer Logo Design

Jason embarked on his professional photography career, with a focus on people and racing, and needed a brand identity that would immediately convey his unique vision. He reached out to me to craft a logo suite that would set the stage for his brand, Wedehase Photographer.

In our initial discussions, we delved into the brand's desired ambiance, aiming for a logo that exudes strength and confidence without relying on the typical photographic imagery. This meant pushing the creative envelope beyond common symbols to something more distinctive.

The journey led us to a dynamic mark that subtly nods to the essence of photography—a moment being captured, the suggestion of a lens, a shutter in motion—encapsulated in a bold red that demands attention. This logo doesn’t just identify Jason's brand; it tells a story of precision and passion, setting him apart in a competitive industry.

With this powerful visual identity, Jason's brand made a strong first impression, resonated with his target audience, and established a memorable presence in the photography market.
  • New Path Center

Tony and Bonnie's New Path Center boasts a logo that offers more than aesthetic appeal—it's a symbol of trust and progress in the counseling community. Born from my strategic discovery process, the logo marries a pathway and location icon, encapsulating the journey of change they facilitate for their clients.

This emblem, cast in a reassuring green and anchored by a sturdy serif font, not only strengthens their brand recognition but also amplifies their message of guidance and support. It's a beacon that draws the community closer, enhancing engagement and conveying a steadfast commitment to those seeking a new direction in life.

In delivering this logo, I’ve given Tony and Bonnie a powerful tool that invites engagement and embodies the promise of change, helping them to connect more deeply with current clients and to attract new ones. The result is more than a new look—it's an investment in their brand's future, laying the groundwork for their continued success and recognition in the competitive counseling landscape.
